Order-Card Key Control

US Locksmith (Lic #00443LK) is an authorized Mul-T-Lock dealer in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. A Hercular deadbolt runs $280–$500 installed, and an MT5+ cylinder fitted into your existing lock runs $160–$320. Keys can only be cut with the magnetic order card that comes with your system, so no one copies a key without it.

How Much Does a Mul-T-Lock Cost Installed in South Florida?

A Mul-T-Lock upgrade costs $160–$320 when we fit an MT5+ or Interactive+ cylinder into your current lock, and $280–$500 for a new Hercular deadbolt. Prices include hardware, labor and two registered keys.

Service call / trip charge$29
Mul-T-Lock cylinder fitted into your existing lock$160–$320
Mul-T-Lock Hercular Grade 1 deadbolt, supplied and installed$280–$500
Additional registered Mul-T-Lock key$35–$70
Keying another door to match (per door)$95–$190
Mul-T-Lock master key system, 3–6 doors$700–$1,600

A cylinder retrofit takes 20–40 minutes; a new deadbolt takes 45–90 minutes. Mul-T-Lock parts are ordered for each job and arrive in 2–5 business days, so we confirm your platform and finish at the first visit and schedule the installation when the parts land.

How Does the Mul-T-Lock Order Card Stop Unauthorized Copies?

Every MT5+ and Interactive+ system ships with a magnetic order card. Without that physical card in hand, no authorized dealer can cut a key on your system — not us, not anyone else. The card stays with you, the owner.

That is a stronger rule than a signature on file, because it does not depend on someone at a counter checking an ID. It is why landlords and business owners who have lost control of their keys before usually choose Mul-T-Lock. If you lose the card, the dealer who registered your system can verify your ownership and issue a replacement.

What Is the Difference Between Interactive+, MT5+ and Classic?

All three use Mul-T-Lock's telescoping pin-in-pin design, which defeats bump keys and standard picking. The difference is key control and patent protection.

MT5+

The current flagship. Patented key profile, a moving element in the key, and order-card control. Our first choice for rentals and businesses.

Interactive+

Order-card control with a slightly simpler key. A good fit for homes that want key control at a lower cost.

Classic

The original pin-in-pin platform. Still pick-resistant, but with weaker duplication control. We rarely recommend it for new systems.

Which Mul-T-Lock Products Do We Install?

The Hercular deadbolt is Mul-T-Lock's Grade 1 lock, reinforced against prying and sawing. Retrofit cylinders fit into existing Schlage, Kwikset, Yale and Baldwin deadbolts and into the multipoint hardware on most impact doors. NE-series padlocks secure gates, sheds and storage units on the same registered key.

Who Benefits Most From Mul-T-Lock?

Anyone who hands keys to people they will not always control. Landlords with yearly tenant turnover, business owners whose employees come and go, and families with a cleaning service, a contractor and a dog-walker all with keys. One Mul-T-Lock key can open the front door, the back door and the garage, while a master key system limits each staff key to its own area. Most of our high-security work is in Brickell, Miami Beach, Aventura, Sunny Isles, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, and we cover every city in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

How Do You Spot a Counterfeit Mul-T-Lock?

The Mul-T-Lock key is distinctive enough that imitators copy its look without the internals. Four warning signs: the system came with no order card; it was bought from an online marketplace rather than a dealer with a service address; the price looked like a bargain; or a standard key machine cuts the key easily. If you inherited Mul-T-Lock hardware you cannot trace, a new cylinder is safer than a rekey. Our Medeco vs Mul-T-Lock guide covers this in more detail.

Typical Situations We Handle

Fort Lauderdale duplex, yearly tenant turnover

Both units change tenants every year, and the owner was replacing locks after every lease. We install Mul-T-Lock MT5+ cylinders on both front doors and the shared laundry room ($160–$320 each). The order card stays with the owner, so a departing tenant cannot have a copy cut anywhere. At the next turnover, a rekey replaces a full lock change.

Doral office and warehouse, keys walked out

A manager left and two keys were never returned. We set up a Mul-T-Lock master key system across five doors ($700–$1,600 for 3–6 doors). The owner's key opens everything, staff keys open only their areas, and every new key needs the order card the owner holds.

Every high-security installation carries a 1-year labor warranty, plus the manufacturer's warranty on the hardware.

Mul-T-Lock Questions

What happens if I lose the Mul-T-Lock order card?
Call the dealer who registered your system. We verify your ownership with ID and the registration on file, then order a replacement card from Mul-T-Lock. Until it arrives, no new keys can be cut — which is exactly the protection the card is meant to give.
Can one Mul-T-Lock key open my front door, back door and garage?
Yes. We key all the cylinders on your property to one registered key, at $95–$190 for each additional door. For a business, a master key system goes further: one owner key opens everything while each staff key opens only its own area.
Can you add a Mul-T-Lock cylinder to an existing Schlage deadbolt?
Yes. Mul-T-Lock makes retrofit cylinders for Schlage, Kwikset, Yale and Baldwin deadbolts. Fitting one costs $160–$320 installed with two registered keys, and takes 20–40 minutes once the parts arrive.
Is a Mul-T-Lock worth it for a rental property?
For most landlords with regular turnover, yes. Because tenants cannot copy the key without the order card, you can rekey between tenants instead of replacing the lock each time. Over two or three turnovers, the savings usually cover the upgrade.
Do Mul-T-Lock locks hold up near the ocean?
Yes, with the right finish. Polished brass pits within a few seasons in salt air, so on doors near the water in Miami Beach, Sunny Isles or Hollywood we specify satin chrome or a stainless-look finish and recommend a cylinder service every two to three years.
